Dear Parishioners,

The Church of our Lady of Immaculate Conception 433, Nanapeth, Pune celebrate the Quasquibicentennial 225th year of its glorious history. The Church started two hundred and twenty five years ago in 1792. The Church has grown to its full stature. It is called Mother Church. All parish priest and assistants were appointed by the Bishop of Goa till 1953 from Goa. They catered the pastoral needs of the Catholics in and periphery of Pune city.

I am glad to note that more than 57 priests from this parish were and are shepherding the Universal church. Among them there is one Bishop Valerian D’souza and four provincials. There were women religious as well. From the city church priests were sent to cater the pastoral needs of Pune suburbs. Now they are independence churches.

The various events arranged to commemorate this happy 225th year’s anniversary of the oldest church. The parishioners have migrated to different parts of the city. Keeping these in mind we had organised area wise programs, get-together. The statue of Mary our mother visited all houses throughout the year. Finally the statue was brought back in the church on 28th November 2017. The parishioners came in a grand procession with live band. Our bishop Thomas Dabre received the statue followed by the flag hosting to prepare for the feast of the church

The feast of our church of Immaculate Conception celebrated on 8th December 2018. All areas were given theme for the novenas. The liturgy was prepared by the people. There was a human rosary formed with lighted candles and the children left the balloons in the air. Thereafter There was a concluding procession after the mass. We are grateful to our mother for all her blessing showered on our families.

On the official website today, we have published (live) a token of recognition – a pictorial magazine that highlights various celebrations, events, communities and charitable organizations that work closely with the Church.
